Fees

  • Currently, the rates are as follow:

Initial Intake Assessment Session (75 minutes) = $225

    Individual Counseling Session (50 minutes) = $150

*NOTE: These rates are for Charlottesville residents only. If you do not live in Charlottesville or Albemarle County then ask about rates for where you live.

  • Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and Optima are the only insurances accepted for individual counseling with Ruel. In order to use insurance, a mental health diagnosis is required. It is upon Ruel's clinical judgment to discern if you have a diagnosable mental health disorder. If you do not meet the criteria for a mental health disorder then insurance cannot be utilized.

  • Check with your insurance provider to see if you can use your insurance with an out-of-network provider. If you can file with an out-of-network provider then a Superbill Form will be provided to you in order to file with your insurance provider for reimbursement. You will be responsible for paying the entire counseling rate even though you are filing for reimbursement.

  • Any appointment not cancelled or rescheduled 24-hours before the appointment time will be charged the full session rate, per our financial agreement forms. To cancel last minute deprives someone else from having been able to use that time slot.
